A peak wind gust of 81 mph was measured at 0744 CST. Additionally, the Automated Surface Observing System at Childress Municipal Airport measured a wind gust of 63 mph at 0745 CST. The severe winds caused the partial collapse of a greenhouse and the partial loss of a roof to a motel.
