The maximum damage path width was 30 yards and estimated peak gusts were 100 mph. This microburst began one-mile north of Venango, just west of Plank Road, where numerous trees were snapped 10 to 30 feet above the ground. As the microburst advanced east-northeastward, it blew-out windows and tore off the sheet metal roof of a fishing camp, blew a tree onto a home, and blew debris onto an RV trailer. These structures were located between Plank Road and French Creek. Snapped trees and debris were strewn in the same direction, from WSW to ENE, indicative of straight-line convective wind damage associated with a microburst. |
