Much of the structural damage was due to falling trees. An automated weather station, belonging to the Arkansas Forestry Commission, recorded a wind gust of 76 mph at the Sheridan airport. Numerous trees were blown down in other sections of Grant County.

Widespread trees were uprooted in Greenfield. There were also reports of minor roof damage in Greenfield. There were several trees and power lines knocked down further east in Truman.

06:20Z 70 KY Christian Hopkinsville The damage area extended from three miles west of downtown Hopkinsville to the edge of downtown. The damaging winds were in a mix of residential and commercial parts of the city. Numerous large trees and tree limbs were blown down. At least a couple of the trees landed on cars and structures. Roofs of two businesses were partially blown off. Several houses lost a few shingles. The damage area was about 1.7 miles wide at its widest point. Peak winds were estimated near 80 mph.
06:24Z 70 KY Christian Hopkinsville About four miles northeast of Hopkinsville, several large trees were uprooted, and a number of other trees lost large limbs. A National Weather Service damage survey team estimated wind gusts were near 80 mph. Just prior to the tree damage, a trained spotter on the northeast side of Hopkinsville estimated winds gusted to 60 mph.
