00:15Z 83 MO Cape Girardeau Cape Girardeau A National Weather Service damage survey indicated winds up to 95 mph occurred in a microburst over the south side of the city of Cape Girardeau. Dozens of trees, tree limbs, and some power lines were blown down. Downed trees closed a major intersection. There was mostly minor damage to several homes, including loss of shingles. The metal roof of a commercial building was peeled back. Traffic was slowed on Interstate 55 due to tree debris. A tractor-trailer rig was rolled over on Interstate 55 near the 96 mile marker. Except for a few downed branches, all of the damage was south of the downtown area and Shawnee Parkway (Highways 34 and 74). The average path width was a mile and one-quarter. The path length was 3.5 miles.

01:19Z 65 KY Carlisle Bardwell Severe winds downed a large tree branch approximately 18 inches in diameter from a mature elm tree on the south side of State Route 1377. This tree was 145 yards from the first of two chicken houses which received wind damage to the ridge vent metal covering, along with similar damage to a second and immediately adjacent chicken house. The damage area was about 300 yards long and 70 yards wide.

The tree snapped and splintered at the trunk. The female homeowner said, everyone understands, this is like a death in the family to me. The fallen tree did cause some minor damaged to the roof of her house and broke a few windows too. A roof on a 7th Avenue warehouse was damaged. The wind blew through some broken windows to help lift a portion of the roof. Also, a section of a side cinder block wall also fell. Both the roof and the wall were not anchored well. A tree fell onto power lines on 8th Avenue. A trained spotted at Marshall University estimated the wind gusts at 65 to 70 mph with many large branches blown down.
