A downed wire caused a power surge at the Hampton Inn along Pennsylvania State Route 611 and Kelly Road. The surge caused an electrical fire and the inn was evacuated for about an hour. The top of a large tree was sheared off on Pennsylvania State Route 611 near Bristol Road. Other large tree limbs were also knocked down in the area and damaged a couple of vehicles. One downed limb broke the window of a gift shop. The severe thunderstorm also knocked down some bricks from an abandoned dwelling. |

One person was trapped within their home until the tree was removed. Trees and tree limbs were knocked down on Columbus Boulevard, Crockett Lane, Ironside Drive, Constitution Boulevard and Chestnut Avenue. A firefighter was injured while removing a downed tree. About 500 homes and businesses lost power in Ocean County. |
