The metal barn probably collapsed at a lower wind speed than would normally be expected, given a lack of damage to nearby pine trees. Estimated wind gusts in this area were around 80 mph.

20:43Z 60 IL Iroquois Ashkum A tree was reported down and a grain bin was blown over when a line of strong thunderstorms hit the town of Ashkum.
20:43Z 60 IA Fayette West Union A fifth wheel camper was picked up and turned upside down by straight line winds from a severe thunderstorm. The winds also partially removed the metal roof off a large machine shed. Golf ball sized hail also fell that broke the siding on a house.

Also, a large volume of hail fell in Butternut. Effects were probably a combination of two severe thunderstorms that tracked over the same area.

The damage started in the northern part of Beaver Creek Valley State Park and continued northeast to near the intersection of State Highway 76 and Haute Ridge Road. Numerous trees were blown down in this damage path.

A tree fell on an occupied car, and the driver injured his shoulder (indirectly-related) exiting the car. Total damage in the area amounted to $10,000.

22:52Z 56 WI Jefferson Watertown Numerous trees and power lines were reported blown down by damaging thunderstorm wind gusts estimated at 56 knots in a swath from 2 miles south of Watertown to Watertown. A tree fell on a home, with minimal damage reported by firefighters responding to the scene. The winds blew over a shed that damaged fencing, a viewing platform and a horse trailer at the Avalon Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Damage in the area totaled $50,000 dollars.

Specific reports include estimated 70 mph gusts near Alpine Road and Harrison Avenue and estimated 75 mph gusts near Interstate 90 and Highway 20. One person was injured on Crosby Street on the near east side of Rockford when a tree fell onto a house. A large tree fell onto a car on Antelope Drive and destroyed the car. Another tree fell onto a car on Fairview Avenue. A pharmacy on Main street lost part of its roof and part of a wall was damaged. Tree limbs and power lines were blown down in many areas.
